Horror in My Eyes

Chloe and Harvey were still looking for Pietro and Chloe was almost at her wits end when she saw him sitting down and reading a book. Chloe sagged in relief, "Pietro!" She called and hurried forward, knowing her terror and relief were being shown equally on her face. She sensed Harvey had stopped to allow her to move forward...how had things changed so drastically? she wondered.

Pietro turned suddenly when he heard Chloe. He dropped his book and took Chloe into his arms. He looked down. "Chloe What's wrong are you ok?" Pietro pulled her close rubbing her back soothingly.

Chloe bit her lip, "No....earlier today I was out for a walk and some guy...Vandal Savage....he tried to rape me...thankfully someone heard me screaming and managed to save me. Then when I was taken back to my room...someone found a camera....someone's spying on me." She said and burst into tears as she clung to him.

Pietro held Chloe to him. He ran his fingers through her hair. He kissed the top of her head. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there to protect you. The guy that saved you. Is he ok?" Pietro continued holding Chloe. He wasn't going to let her go after this.

Chloe nodded, "I had to heal him though because....Vandal killed him...he's not someone you want to go after Pietro." She said with a sob. She didn't want to picture Pietro dying because of her....that would cause her heart to break.

Pietro held her tighter. "I won't." He kissed her forehead. "For you." He brought her back to his chest.

Chloe sagged in relief and breathed out shakily, "I know its the last thing you probably want to hear on everything else....but I promised Batnan I would bring it up. The person who's been spying on me......we think its the Joker and I'm roomed next to him....he's someone else you don't want to get on the wrong side of Pietro." She said shakily, The Joker had a reputation for being really unpredictable...her life was seriously screwed.

Pietro pulled back and looked at her. "Chloe I promise you... I won't go looking for a fight." He kissed her lips gently, and pulled her back into his arms.

Chloe was even more relieved when he said that and kissed him back before sinking back into his arms, "I am so sorry....for dragging you into this." She managed to say feeling like the worst girlfriend on the planet.

Pietro pulled back. Looking at Chloe. "I'm not." He looked at her very seriously. "I care about you Chloe. Danger doesn't mean anything."

Chloe met his eyes as she fought back another sob, "It does if you're the one in danger...I don't want to lose you." She whispered as she stared up at him.

He smiled at her. "You won't. I promise. I'm a lot tougher then I look." He kissed her forehead.

She smiled weakly and stepped back into his arms, "I love you." She whispered and then almost froze.....she wasn't sure how he would react. Why had she let the words slip out now?? She wondered as she felt like hitting herself.

Pietro's eyes widened. Then they softened. "I love you too." He leaned over and kissed her lips lovingly.

Chloe kissed him back just as tenderly as she felt her heart start pounding....he loved her too?? At least something was going right she thought happily.

Pietro pulled her closer as he ran his hand up her back holding her close to him.

Chloe kissed him deeper and threaded her hands through his hair, she needed this.

Pietro held her closer to him knowing she needed him now.

Chloe slowly pulled away and then just hugged him again, she was shaking as everything she had just felt came crashing down on her.

Pietro held her as her body shook. He could tell she was coming down from the adrenaline rush.

Chloe was still shaking and she could feel her healing power kick in getting rid of the shock that had set in. Her shaking slowed and she took a few deep breaths, "Sorry." She whispered.

Pietro smiled down at her. "Nothing to be sorry for." He kissed her check. "When you glow like that you look like an angel."

Chloe blushed, "Really?" She asked with a small smile, the compliment made her heart start racing again. "You have the uncanny ability to calm me down.....I really love that about you.' She said softly.

"And I love how I can make you blush." He brushed her check with his thumb.

She smiled, "I love how I can make you smile." She said quietly as she wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled up at him.
